Red Cross in Urgent Need of Volunteers in Pennsylvania

The American Red Cross of Greater Pennsylvania is urgently seeking volunteers to assist with ongoing relief efforts. The organization currently has over 30 individuals from the state aiding survivors of Hurricane Helene, but the need for additional help is pressing.

Hurricane Helene has caused significant damage in areas such as Asheville, North Carolina, and Steinhatchee, Florida. The Red Cross is providing shelter, food, water, and recovery support for those affected by the disaster. The organization is now calling for more volunteers to respond to natural disasters, assist during blood drives, and more.

According to the Red Cross, Western North Carolina was hit extremely hard by Helene. Search and rescue operations remain underway, and supplies are being flown in by air to small mountain towns that are cut off due to conditions like downed trees making many roads impassable.
